Jacquelien Vriese is a composer and producer – and as such the embodiment of Symphoneon Sound Design. As the daughter of an accomplished show jump rider and professional horseman, Jacquelien grew up among horses. She actively participated in show jumping competitions at a high level. Jacquelien not only inherited her father’s passion for equestrian sport, but also his passion for music, specifically religious and classical. The heavenly sounds of the organ playing in the church she attended on Sundays made such an impression on her that from an early age that she wanted to make music herself. Jacquelien showed an exceptional musical talent: even though she only had her first formal music lessons when she was six, she was already playing short musical pieces by Mozart when she was five. In her teens, Jacquelien was coached in both theory and practice by musical celebrities such as Piet Wiersma (literature playing) and Dick Dijck (theory of music). She gave concerts, participated successfully in organ competitions, and at the age of fourteen won the national talent competition “De Kunstbende”. She was invited to play in the Rotterdam cathedral during the presentation of the Laurenspenning to Beerend Lenstra. It soon became apparent that Jacquelien could hold a wide audience enraptured and that she should definitely continue her musical career. She did this as a student of the main subject teacher and eminent musician Cor Ardesch at the Arnhem conservatory. Throughout her musical career, the equestrian sport continued to play a major role, and Jacquelien was continually looking for ways to professionally combine music and horse riding. She decided to follow courses and training in the fields of audio engineering, electronic music and mixing-mastering. In 2010 this resulted in Symphoneon Sound Design, which showcased her passion for horses and love of music coming together in a unique way. Nowadays, Jacquelien inspires numerous dressage riders with her exceptional and innovative music productions.
